Okay, so I’m not actually 100% certain that everyone knows that my favourite film is in fact Back to the Future. It might be safe to say that this is now clarified with y’all. So yes! Back to the Future day! Technically, considering the time that I’m writing this, it was yesterday, but the 12th of November, 1955 (in the film, of course) is the famous date that the one and only Marty McFly went back to his home-time of 1985 with the help of the power of lightning and, naturally, the Flux Capacitor. Now, I’m sure that you’ve all seen Back to the Future – if you haven’t, get out now…haha jokes! No, seriously – and I’m sure that you all think I’m perhaps a little teensy bit crazy about it…well you’re right. And to be perfectly frank, this post has no sentimental, no political, no actual relevant meaning to anything other than what you may call my obsession.
Alright, I’ll find some kind of moral of this story…
I have it! The point is, that everyone has to have something that they’re absolutely in love with, whether it’s a nerdy thing or not. To be honest, Back to the Future is perfectly nerdy but I couldn’t care less because it’s something that I love and something that I understand and relate to. Well, maybe that’s a step too far considering I never had a time machine and never almost erased myself from existence, but you get the idea.
And the second moral of the story is: if you haven’t watched Back to the Future, go out and buy it before I burst into tears at your lack of experience with such a masterpiece.
