Poster Words

I’m looking for new posters for the bedroom. I outgrew the rainbow phone boxes collapsed on top of each other, and my Back cinderella_poster_a_pto the Future one is on its last legs so I’ve been shopping around. I love film posters but I want something on my walls that’s more arty than fangirly. Trouble is, each and every film poster has the title scrawled across the bottom half of the paper, like I don’t know what movie it is. Lady in a blue dress – woah is that Cinderella? Who knew? Thanks, movie poster for telling me. A hobbit looking out of a circular door – is that perhaps…The Hobbit? Well, I never would have guessed! And a very familiar wavy haired dwarf, standing at the edge of a boat looking out towards a dragon over a misty sea. Is it for the movie Snow White? OH WAIT. It kindly informs me at the bottom that it’s Game of Thrones. Gee, thanks, poster.

I don’t need to be told what the film/TV programme is. If I’m a fan of it, I probably know what it is already. If I’m not a fan of it, why would I want it on my wall?? I just look at all these beautiful posters that are real credits to the films that they come from and think that they are entirely spoilt by the title plastered across them. We know what the films are, we don’t need informing. The struggle is real, all I want is something to brighten up my room that doesn’t have words on it…

Watch List – Spring 2015

I haven’t been to the cinema in a while, encouraging me to compile this list of films to watch (which I am determined that I will!!) whether at the flicks or on DVD. If you’ve seen any, shoot me a comment, particularly if it isn’t any good 😉

Something Blue

The new Cinderella is finally out in the UK and its reception has been magnificent. I have yet to see it, but I’m raring to go, got a sweet spot for Disney Princesses, y’know.

There’s been one thing though, that’s been bugging me until now. Cinderella’s astounding new dress has looked awfully familiar to me and I just haven’t been able to place it. That’s when I spotted a child’s version of the dress on sale in Sainsburys covered in butterflies and flowers and it hit me: Songbird Barbie.

Don’t they look similar?? Takes me right back to being a little five or six year old. Oh, nostalgia.
